Bank of America launched the Art Conservation Project in 2010 to support nonprofit museums around the world in fulfilling their mission to preserve works of art and cultural treasures in danger of degeneration. Since then, we have funded 237 projects in forty countries at museums both monumental and intimate. Volume III of the Art Conservation Project book covers recipients from 2017 through 2019, with an introduction by Brian Moynihan and a foreword by Barbara Pollack, founder of Art at a Time Like This. It features more than 200 vibrant color photographs of works of art and the conservation process, and celebrates the creative heritage of the global communities in which we live and work. The projects highlighted in the book are diverse—from Native American objects at the American Museum of Natural History to modern masterpieces by Georgia O’Keeffe at the O’Keeffe Museum, Robert Rauschenberg at the Hirschhorn and Frank Stella at the Minneapolis Institute of art. Also highlighted are the iconic Massacre at Chios by Delacroix at the Louvre and van Gogh’s Starry Night at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, along with more than 180 paintings and sculptures at Le Centre d’Art, Haiti, and eight exquisite silk paintings by Jeong Seon at the Kansong Art and Culture Foundation, Seoul. Hardcover, 176 pages including gatefolds. The book measures 9.75” x 12.75”.
